What are the Board and Wedges for?

Answer: These are optional installation items.  The board may be useful to reinforce the vertical surface.  The wedges may be useful to level the vertical surface.  Please note:  These are currently only available in one size, which aligns with the Standard Bracket.

What size tabletop is recommended for Lagun?

Answer:

  • Tabletops are NOT INCLUDED with systems.
  • System with Standard TMP can support up to 50 lbs.  System with Folding TMP can support up to 40 lbs.  This includes the weight of the tabletop plus anything placed on it.
  • System with Standard TMP can support a tabletop up to 30" x 40".  System with Folding TMP can support a tabletop up to 24" x 36".  The table mounting plate should be as centered as possible.
  • Minimum thickness: 5/8"
  • Use #8 pan headed screws (NOT INCLUDED) to install to the tabletop.  Screws must be installed at least 1/2 the depth of the tabletop for stability reason, using caution so they don’t protrude through the tabletop.
  • CAUTION: Be mindful of leaning on tabletop or using it to support yourself standing up.  This may cause the tap to bend.

How do I adjust the Lagun Table Leg system?

Answer: The Lagun Table Leg system can swivel, adjust vertically or be disassembled for storage by loosening/tightening the handles.  Here are some tips:

  • Loosen handles before connecting, disassembling, swiveling, or adjusting.
  • Tighten handles to secure into place.
  • All handles tighten clockwise & untighten counterclockwise.
  • Tighten handle to a snug position, using caution not to overtighten.
    • Caution: Do not overtighten handles as thread damage may occur, causing the handle to seize.
  • Push the button on the handle in while pulling outward on the handle to reposition the handle.  This allows you to continue to tighten/untighten.

Do I have to loosen the handles before adjusting the system?

Answer: YES, ABSOLUTELY!  Always loosen handles before adjusting the Leg or swiveling the Arm.

Caution: Failure to do so may wear down tap & bushing.

Does it matter which direction the Arm is attached?

Answer: YES!  The bushings of the Arm must always face towards the taps of the Leg & Table Mounting Plate (TMP).  See photo below.

ARM CONNECTION

What is the vertical adjustment range?

Answer:  On the backside of the Leg, there is a solid groove area & a slotted groove area.  The slotted groove area is the adjustment range & where the Bracket should be within.  When the handle is tightened, this Leg cinches onto the Bracket to lock in place.  If the handle is tightend when the Bracket is in the solid groove area, it may cause problems.

Caution: Be mindful of adjustment range.  Tightening Leg handle when system is adjusted out of range may cause track of Leg to become pinched or handle to become cross-threaded/seize.

The photo below shows the backside of a Standard Leg.  The Standard & Longer Legs have the same adjustment range of 6" up or 6" down.  The Double-Handled Leg has a longer slotted groove area, allowing for an adjustment range of 6" up or 11 1/2" down.

How far do I need to shim the Bracket if mounting a Lagun Table Leg system to the wall?

If mounting the bracket flush to the vertical surface, you will need to shim the bracket out at least 1” to allow the arm to swivel.  There is 7/8” overlap at the arm & leg connection point.  If you do not shim the bracket out from the wall, there will not be enough clearance for the arm to pivot.

Where should I install the Lagun Table Leg System?

Answer: Placement of the bracket is very important as the Lagun Table Leg System requires a solid foundation. The bracket must be installed on a solid vertical surface. Attaching it to only a piece of paneling or fiberglass is not adequate.  There isn’t one specific Lagun Table Leg system for every scenario or each model of RV/Van.  We are not able to recommend bracket placement or which system would work best for your application, as we do not know structure & reinforcement areas in every van/RV.

Can I use the Lagun Table Leg system in more than one location?

Answer: Yes. Additional brackets can be purchased on the Accessories Page to be able to move your Lagun to another location.

By installing an additional bracket on the outside of your camper, in your boat or at the end of your countertop, you can utilize the system in multiple locations.

Can I mount the Original Lagun system on the floor?

Answer: No, the bracket must be installed on a solid vertical surface.  We do NOT offer a floor adapter option.

The Lagun Table Leg System is NOT compatible with the round tube style table leg, as the system is only as strong as the bracket installation.

What if I need longer bolts?

Answer: We do not offer any other size of bolts besides the ones included with the system. The ones included are 2" in length (8 mm or 5/16" equivalent).  If you need a different bolt length, you may need to replace the nuts as well.

Another option is to use #18 Tapered Lag Screws (instead of included bolts).

NOTE: Make sure the screws/bolts used are recessed into the bracket so they do not stick out and get caught on leg handle.

Can the Lagun tabletop fold down?

Answer: This depends on which Table Mounting Plate (TMP) you have.

With the Standard Table Mounting Plate (TMP) - No, there are no hinges to allow that to happen. However, you can easily disassemble the pieces. This allows you to store the entire (except for the installed bracket) Lagun Table Leg System under the table top.

With the Folding Table Mounting Plate (TMP) - Yes.  We have a limited supply available.  For this reason, it is currently offered as a PART ONLY - not as an option with a system.  If you would like to substitute the Folding TMP for the Standard TMP with your system, please email us for assistance.

What is the dovetail channel on the Table Mounting Plate (TMP) for?

Answer: This channel is used to store the leg when the system is disassembled.
